# Tasks Schema (JSON)

## 1. Overview
|
|
|
|
Codex uses `tasks.json` as the single source of truth for task state management, replacing Claude Code's `TaskCreate`/`TaskUpdate` API calls and CSV-based state tracking. Each session has one `tasks.json` file and multiple `discoveries/{task_id}.json` files.
